PROFILE

EXPERIENCE

-SENIOR EDITOR
URBAN PLAINS | AUGUST 2016 -DECEMBER 2016

As a senior editor for the Drake University publication online, “Urban Plains”, I acted as
the Culture editor. This involved overseeing a team of writers who contribute articles
on art and culture for the website by providing assignment letters and first and second
round macro-edits on the stories they submit. As a member of the “Urban Plains” team,
I also contributed articles to the web publication.

-WRITER
DRAKE MAGAZINE & DRAKE MAG ONLINE | FALL 2015 – SPRING 2017

For Drake Magazine Fall 2015 and Spring 2016, I acted as a contributing writer writing a book review article for the publications Bit of Lit section in the Fall and for the Spring, a piece titled “Refrigerator Rescue” on food waste in America. The food waste piece had an accompanying online article on food storage tips. For the magazine’s online medium, I was a Spring 2016 staff writer, contributing bi-weekly articles on recipes and restaurant reviews and guides. This season, Spring 2017, I’m in the process of writing two pieces for Drake Magazine, a “Bit of Lit” story on banned books and a food and health bit titled “Great Grains.”
